Highlights from the First National Forum on Sepsis: Defeating the Killer

The Rory Staunton Foundation’s First National Forum on Sepsis took place on September 17, 2014 in Washington DC. Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) gave the keynote address. He praised New York State’s adoption of Rory’s Regulations, which require health care providers in New York to develop and implement protocols to rapidly diagnose and treat sepsis infections, and pledged to work towards the implementation of federal standards for sepsis care. He also announced a resolution declaring September to be Sepsis Awareness Month.
